From humble beginnings in Lygon Street, Carlton, to being the coffee of choice amongst many of Australia’s leading chefs and food critics. Grinders have grown with their customer base. Originally dealing with the Lygon Street locals, Giancarlo and Selma Giusti, the founders of Grinders, have been key players in the development of coffee’s popularity in Australia.

Grinders Coffee has expanded well beyond the capacity of the original factory and is now approaching capacity limits at the Fitzroy plant. Grinders are currently constructing a new production facility modeled on the finest Italian factories. The Fairfield operations will incorporate a new equipment showroom, espresso training centre, roasting and packaging plant and service workshop.

The completion of this facility will allow Grinders to continue its expansion into other States and into areas such as premium grocery retail.

Grinders Coffee realized that to be competitive as stay ahead of the competition, they had to look at replacing the traditional paper-and telephone-based system with mobile and wireless solutions that enabled access to key information directly from the field.

Whether Grinders staff were closing sales, managing relationships, helping customers, servicing equipment or performing inspections, their field workers rely on up-to the-minute information access for their success and their clients satisfaction.

As our organization grew it was important to find a solution which would implement into our current network easily. We needed to deliver critical information to our field staff in a timely manner. The Advanced Mobility Solution will give us the freedom to respond to our clients needs quickly in turn increasing our productivity.

Now we will be able to closely monitor our sales figures, product inventory, and staff activity easily from the AMS user-friendly control panel. As soon as our field staff submits the information from the Pocket PC, Grinders Coffee Head Office has real time access to this information.

A copy of the invoice is generated immediately to the client from the Pocket PC eliminating the need for invoice books, and paper chasing. Accounts can view all the information easily and at the click of a button ledger this information into our accounting package.

Inventory is scanned coming into our warehouse and each time a sale is generated out in the field from the Pocket PC, the stock is deducted from our inventory flag falling staff when stock levels are low therefore greatly increasing sales and productivity.
